Dixons Chooses Deva Retail Centre for Flagship Currys Store

July 24, 2001

Slough Estates has reported a substantial letting within the proposed Deva Retail Centre at Chester.

Dixons Stores Group, trading as Currys, has agreed to take a unit of 40,000 sq. ft, which is to be its flagship store for the area. An additional unit of 5,000 sq. ft is also under offer. Joint agents Mentor and King Sturge are currently seeking tenants for the remaining 35,000 sq. ft in the retail centre, which can be divided according to tenants' specific requirements.

The retail park will be constructed on the site of a former industrial estate being redeveloped for higher value use by Slough Estates. The site is adjacent to Greyhound Retail Park and opposite Chester Retail Park within the Deva Link road network.

Derek Wilson, Chief Executive of Slough Estates commented:
“We are delighted to have Currys as the anchor store and we look forward to securing more lettings before construction starts later this year.”
