English Oaks Repatriated

Feb 7, 2003

Four mighty oak trees were planted at Slough Estates’ latest office development at 240-252 Bath Road this week.

The English Oaks (Quercus Robur) are some fifty years old and were grown at Bruns Nurseries in Germany. Each tree measures over 10m in height and weighs 8500 kgs. The root ball alone measures some 2.3m by 1.25m. A complex operation to transport and lift the trees into place was required, and took 2 days to complete.

The office scheme immediately adjoins Slough Estates headquarters buildings, and the trees form the focal point of the high quality landscaping scheme.
