Slough Estates' efforts to improve the commercial workplace in Slough were recently awarded when its office building at 240-252 Bath Road was named regional winner for South of England and South Wales of the 'Commerical Workplace' category in The British Council for Offices Awards 2004.
Slough was commended for achieving an effective, straightforward and timeless design. Particular note was made of the unbeatable cost of the project achieved with no compromise made on quality. The external appearance was admired for its inspiring and rigorous detail and its beautifully landscaped courtyard which lifts the location.
Ian McKee, architect for Slough Estates, commented, "The team was absolutely delighted to receive this award from the BCO who are the champions of excellence in workplace design. I believe the award is recognition for the hard work that Slough's design and development teams have put in and although the site and brief were very challenging, the development clearly demonstrates the added valve good design can bring to a project."
